About
Nick Mirow rowing a single scull

Nick Mirow is a Rowing Australia Level 1 accredited coach and competitive rower, coaching out of Sydney since 2019, across school programmes, clubs, and masters athletes.

How we can work together

Standalone services you book when you want them, a programme that is yours to keep, or coaching rebuilt every four weeks around how you are actually going.

On the coaching tiers, you choose how to begin, either a Full Assessment for greater depth and analysis, or straight into the subscription, and we sharpen it as we go.

Standalone

A one-off, whenever you want it

Book a session, a rigging job, or a video breakdown whenever you want one. Nothing ongoing behind it, and nothing to cancel.

  • On-water coaching: technique, boat feel, race craft
  • Boat rigging and setup: hands-on, dialled to you
  • Video analysis: filmed, broken down, written up
  • Consult calls: technique, training, whatever's on your mind
Programmes

A structured plan, yours to keep

Off-the-shelf, built from your own numbers, or fully bespoke from testing and a consultation. No subscription either way, just a plan to follow over a set block of weeks.

  • Prebuilt: three ready-made 12-week erg plans you buy and follow, coming soon
  • Baseline: a structured programme from your own numbers and goals
  • Programme: a fully bespoke build, with testing, a consultation, and a live walkthrough
Coaching

A live relationship, rebuilt every block

Rolling coaching that adapts every four weeks based on how training is actually going, from light guidance through to a full hands-on relationship.

  • Guided Coaching: rebuilt every block from how you're actually going, with messaging support along the way
  • Online Coaching: a 4-weekly review call, video analysis with a technical write-up to guide your training, and messaging support throughout the block
  • Personal Coaching: weekly 90-minute in-person sessions, full hands-on coaching, in-person block reviews, and messaging support

Charlotte · In-person coaching · 6+ months

Nick's an excellent coach who takes the time to get to know you and build genuinely bespoke programmes around your goals, strengths and weaknesses. His expertise goes well beyond coaching beginners, where he already has a proven track record of success; he also has the knowledge and experience to work with competitive rowers with ambitious goals.

Harry · Personal Coaching · 12+ months

His coaching style is excellent. He sees clearly each rower's personal strengths and weaknesses, and will then break down the components of a stroke clearly and progressively so that you can work on each of them in a way that effectively builds the whole.

Louise · In-person coaching · 6+ months

Nick has the ability to home in on just a couple of really important techniques that are going to maximise uplift. He gives simple and clear guidance, instead of information overload.

What everything runs on

Three things hold true across everything here, whether that is a single rigging session or a two-year build.

One coach, start to finish

There is no team here and nothing is outsourced. The person who writes your programme is the person who coaches you, reviews your footage, and answers your emails.

The whole athlete

On-water, erg, strength and conditioning, mobility, and how your boat is set up. Most coaching stops at one of those. I am thinking about all of them, whether that is a 90-minute rigging session or a 24-week build.

You learn the why

I would rather you understood the reasoning than followed instructions. It makes you a better athlete, and it means you can make good calls on the days I am not there.
